Saturday was my first day of Photography 1, a course Victor kindly signed me up for so I'd get moving & not be so intimidated to step into the world of *real* photography.
The class was a great introduction into the basics of aperture and shutter. We were tasked with shooting in manual mode and focusing really on nothing more than metering. We're to shoot in black & white to get a feel for seeing in light vs. color. I embraced the challenge and took the dogs to Emma Long today - here are a few of my photographs.
Amazing I got him to stand still for a few shots, but of course that tail never, ever stops wagging.
Someone built this large cairn just before Katja's. I was happy to see her rock cairn has some company! Like the contrast of the trunk vs the rocks.
Every time I go to Emma Long and find Katja's rock cairn still intact, it makes me smile and also appreciate that there are some kind people in this world who will honor what others have built and not destroy. So much of life seems to be about tearing others down - by being rude, snarky remarks, and generally bulldozing your path to get ahead. Sometimes it's ok to just be.
Was trying to focus on the concept of light and how it bounces off things differently. I liked how the light was coming through the trees here.
